The honest read
KTool is the most complete product in this category and the one we were designed against. Its pricing ladder is smart and we copied the thinking behind it: the manual thing — sending an article you chose — is the cheap tier, and the automatic things — newsletters, digests, scheduled magazines — are the upsell. That ordering is correct. People pay for a habit that runs without them, not for a button.
What KTool has not done is keep building. The public changelog’s last dated entry is April 2023. The Chrome extension has been at v1.9.0 since November 2024 (2,000 installs, 4.7 stars from 27 ratings). The marketing site was last rebuilt in April 2025 — for Amazon’s sender-address change, which they handled correctly and promptly. Their founder now runs an AI product making many times the revenue, which is a rational decision and not a criticism.
So the comparison is not "who has more features". It is: three of KTool’s paid upsells are our defaults, we deliver to readers that are not a Kindle, and when Amazon refuses a document we tell you exactly which address is missing from your approved list.
